The Telephone Preference Service (TPS), Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) and Fax Preference Service (FPS) are registers of individuals and businesses that don't want to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls or faxes.

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, it is illegal to make direct marketing calls or send marketing faxes to individual people or businesses that have registered with the TPS, CTPS or FPS.

This factsheet describes the steps you must take to comply with the Regulations and explains the checks you must carry out before conducting telephone or fax direct marketing campaigns. It contains useful hints and tips, as well as links to further sources of information.
