Children's day nurseries provide childcare and early years education for children aged from birth up to five years old. Day nurseries provide care on a full-time or part-time basis and are usually open during working hours, generally between 8am and 7pm.
Children's day nurseries tend to cater for between 20 and 40 children. Children are grouped and looked after according to their age and follow a Government-approved early years curriculum.
